Our Therapy Department is designed to help patients maximize their strength and regain their independence with the goal of returning home. By giving our residents the right tools, they are able to go back to their normal day-to-day life. Hearing from our residents about their experience with the Therapy Team at our facility means so much to us. Recently, we received the following statement from a rehabilitation resident and are so proud of our team for the feedback they received.

"I really enjoyed my stay. I can’t even tell you how much I truly liked it. The staff is so wonderful and nice. The facility is clean and comfortable. They have really good therapy. Before coming to Rockland, I needed help doing even basic activities. Therapy taught me how to use a sliding board and how to do different exercises that have strengthened my legs and arms! Musical therapy was my favorite. They gave me tools and information I could use at home as well. They helped me get back to a place of independence. If I had any questions, the staff would come right away and answer all my questions even if I had a hard time remembering. Nurses were good at answering questions and explaining my medications.

I liked that I was involved in the care planning meetings as well. I always knew what was going on at any point. The nursing staff was so supportive and uplifting. They took the time when I was feeling down or anxious to sit and listen to me, talk and joke with me, and make me laugh. They take the time to get to know you and even remembered my preferences. They would come to check on me just to make sure everything was okay; I think that’s what I liked most.

The food here is better than any place I have ever been. I have been to two other nursing facilities in the area, and if I would need to again, I would come back here. When I was discharged, they made sure my transportation and home health were set up and medical equipment was delivered. They even got me a new wheelchair.

I was my doctor’s first patient going to Rockland Ridge and he wanted a full report of my experience here. I let him know that it was a wonderful place to go. I would highly recommend Rockland Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation."
