She chose to work in this industry because of her love for listening to the older generations' stories. She has always been interested in the stories and life experiences they have to share, along with their different insights.

Why do you continue to be a caregiver? What motivates you and keeps you energized?

"Try to bring a little bit of home to them. Finding something they have lost and watching their faces light up when I find the lost article."

What parts of your job let you know you were making a difference? What makes you feel happy and fulfilled? Tell us your favorite parts of your job.

"When patients thank me and tell me how great their clothes look and smell and how nice things are for them. Knowing when the patient isn’t feeling well. Helping put on a shirt or sweater so they feel warmer."

What are some of your daily goals of service and care to others?

"Make sure they are safe as possible when doing their laundry. Taking extra time to hang things on hangers the way they like them. Talking to them and showing respect for them."

What are some of your other interests, apart from work, that others can know to relate to you more?

"I enjoy time with my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. My spoiled dog, squirt. I love to read, garden and I used to enjoy cooking. I also enjoy spending time with my brothers and sisters."
